Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, such as your email address, display name, and city. For an access or interest request, we also store the selected interest group, up to three interest categories, local/online participation preference, an optional pilot region, locale, campaign or referral attribution, and separate timestamps for requesting and confirming APPIK universe updates. Raw referrer URLs are not stored. We also collect usage data such as activity completions and app interactions.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: provide the App’s core functionality, record and respond to your stated interest, segment potential access by the context you selected, personalize your experience recommendations, improve the App, and communicate with you about your request.
3. APPIK Universe Updates
Updates are optional and separate from recording your interest. We send universe updates only when you first request them in the form and then confirm that request through the email link. Without that second action, the address remains unavailable for update campaigns. You can withdraw update consent from the secure application-management surface without withdrawing your underlying interest request.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with service providers who help us operate the App (analytics, hosting, etc.) under strict confidentiality agreements.
5. Analytics
We use PostHog for analytics to understand how users interact with the App and its public landing pages. Events are scoped to APPIKTIVITY in a shared EU-hosted analytics project. We do not send authentication tokens, email addresses, conversation text, or raw location data to PostHog. Native product analytics is off until you enable that purpose. Personal learning, privacy-safe research cohorts, and experience replay have separate controls. Incognito suppresses all four paths. Experience replay remains unavailable unless masking and the maximum 14-day retention limit can be enforced.
6. Native Usage Intelligence
Consented Native interactions may be retained for up to 90 days. Personal-learning evidence creates visible, correctable and deletable assertions with provenance and expiry; it is not inferred from passive dwell or scrolling. Research output is aggregate-only, uses broad non-sensitive dimensions, and suppresses cells below 20 distinct people. Withdrawing a purpose deletes your queued and raw usage evidence and Native learning assertions; aggregate cells are not used to reconstruct membership.
7. AI-Assisted Conversations
When you enable a F.A.C.E. language-model tier, selected conversation text and summarized persona or preference context are sent to Google Gemini to polish or generate a response. Prompts do not include your account identifier, raw location history, or third-party identifiers. If the AI service is unavailable, F.A.C.E. uses its local template response instead.
8. Data Retention
We retain account data for as long as your account is active. Raw consented Native usage is retained for at most 90 days and non-identifying research aggregates for up to 13 months. A potential access contact that does not verify its email is retained for a configured period; the default is 30 days and the configured period is never more than 90 days. It is deleted by the next scheduled retention run after that period, normally within 24 hours. Withdrawn application content and contact data are scrubbed immediately; the remaining suppression record is deleted after 30 days. Declined or expired application contact data are minimized after 90 days. If you delete your account, Native usage and learning data is removed immediately; remaining account data is permanently deleted after a 30-day recovery period.
9. Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the right to: access your personal data, correct inaccurate data, delete your data, restrict processing, and data portability. Contact us at [email protected] to exercise these rights.
10. Data Export
You can request a portable export in Profile → Settings. It includes purpose consent, retained usage events, delivery state, provenance, and visible personal-learning assertions. You can also contact [email protected].
11. Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. No advertising cookies are used.
12. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or by email.
